'ARMED' FOR BATTLE
AND BRAGGING RIGHTS
AT THE 43rd ANNUAL SCOTTISH GAMES ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, 2003
24th Annual Long Island Arm Wrestling Championships is first time event!
OLD WESTBURY, LI. NY. August 23, 2003. Spectators are invited to watch or compete as the New York Arm Wrestling Association, Long Island Clan Mac Duff and Old Westbury Gardens have joined forces to present what is considered a 'BRAND NEW' first time ever event at the 43rd Annual Scottish Games. It's the 24th Annual Long Island 'Golden Arm Wrestling ' Championships to be held on the Main Stage at 71 OLD WESTBURY GARDENS, OLD WESTBURY, LONG ISLAND, NY. Registration and Weigh-in begins at 11:00 am and Start time is 1:00 PM. There are thirteen weight classes for both men and women. Free entry will be provided for everyone. GENERAL ADMISSION IS $10, SENIORS CITIZENS $8 AND CHILDREN $5. PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT NEARBY WESTBURY HIGH SCHOOL AND A FREE SHUTTLE BUS IS AVAILABLE TO THE SCOTTISH GAMES.
Awards will be given for first, second and third place and a male and female MVP will be crowned. There are no residency requirements. All award winners will qualify for the November 13, 2003, Empire State 'Golden Arm' Tournament of Championships Finals at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown, Manhattan.
This year's New York 'Golden Arm' Series consists of 10 Preliminary Championships and a Final. The finals will also include the NYC High School Champions, College Champions, Military Champions, The Five Borough Champions, Long Island Champions and NYS Champions. The New York Golden Arm Series events are held at major festivals, fairs, racetracks, beaches, and major tourist attractions in each of the five NYC Boroughs, Long Island, and upstate New York. The last two qualifying events of the New York 'Golden Arm' series will be held in September. The NYC Junior Championships Sept. 13, 2003 and The Manhattan Borough Championships on Sept. 21, 2003.
